I am an Associate Professor of Government at Wesleyan University. My research interests include political parties, women and politics, and Christian Democracy. I am the author of The CDU and the Politics of Gender in Germany: Bringing Women to the Party with Cambridge University Press, as well as several articles and book chapters on these themes. I have lived in Germany for three and a half years and traveled extensively in Europe. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and my B.A. in Physics from Harvard University.
