Deputy Director, Astronomy and Space Science, CSIRO

I joined CASS as Deputy Chief in February 2011. Prior to this role, I was Project Manager for GridPP, the UK computing grid for particle physics. My previous experience includes time as a science advisor in the UK Parliament.

I hold a PhD in X-ray astronomy from the University of Leicester and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Oxford (Worcester College).

I'm currently the Deputy Director of CASS, where I chair the CASS Executive. I have particular responsibility for our role in the Square Kilometre Array project, and I manage the CSIRO SKA Centre that co-ordinates our SKA activities. I am also Australia's Science Director on the international SKA Board.
