Professor of Film and Television, Goldsmiths, University of London

Born in Lincolnshire of Irish parents, I've lived and worked in Montreal, London, Liverpool, Chicago, New Zealand and Melbourne before returning to the UK in 2011. I work on the history and philosophy of media, with a concentration in political aesthetics, and my books include work on video art and activism, film history and theory, digital aesthetics and eco-criticism, with a new title on the history of visual technologies due from MIT Press in 2014.
