Sebastian Thomas

Lecturer in Sustainability Governance and Leadership, The University of Melbourne

I apply systems thinking to complex social-ecological challenges. My expertise is founded in climate change issues and crosses the ecological and social sciences. In the former area I focus on vulnerability, resilience, and human-nature interactions in coastal and marine ecosystems. In the social fields I explore policy and governance, corporate strategy and innovation, and carbon and energy management. I have experience in inter-and transdisciplinary practice, working with Indigenous communities in SE Asia as well as corporates, government, and NGOs around the world.
