Simon Lewis

(He/him)
Professor of Forensic and Analytical Chemistry, Curtin University

I have a background as an analytical chemist, but have been involved with forensic science education and research for over 20 years. My teaching and research focusses around forensic science, with a particular emphasis on forensic exchange evidence. This includes latent fingermark chemistry, analysis and interpretation of physical trace evidence and more recently the challenges of sustainable forensic science service provision. I have collaborated extensively with forensic service providers and law enforcement agencies during this time, in both education and research. I also have a great interest in using analytical and forensic science for outreach to promote engagement and understanding of science in the wider community.
