Dr Sindiwe Magona is an award-winning author, storyteller, motivational speaker, actor, teacher and translator. She writes children’s and adults books. Magona was awarded the Order of iKhamanga; holds four Honorary Doctorates and, in 2022, graduated with a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of the Western Cape.

Mother to Mother, the novel, prescribed for Grade 10, English First Language [2016-2020] is also required reading for high school diploma in the Hesse Region in Germany. The novel Beauty’s Gift was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize and the Sunday Times Literary Award in 2009.
