Prof Glavey is a haematologist and a physician scientist focused on multiple myeloma and she leads a research group at RCSI focused on precision medicine for this disease. She is the academic lead for the Molecular Pathology Laboratory at RCSI, which is a nationally accredited laboratory for cancer genomics and provides national MRD testing for myeloma patients in Ireland.

Prof Glavey’s research focuses on understanding mechanisms of tumour progression in the bone marrow microenvironment and predicting mechanisms of therapy resistance in multiple myeloma. She is interested in the development of new genomic molecular markers that predict outcomes in multiple myeloma, particularly extramedullary disease relapse. She leads a number of investigator initiated and industry sponsored clinical and translational research projects in Ireland.
