Stella Morgana is a scholar, researcher and lecturer focusing on the Middle East and contemporary Iran. Her research explores the dynamics of political participation, labor politics, hegemonic and counter-hegemonic discourses. She has held teaching and research positions at the University of Amsterdam and Leiden University (Middle East History and Politics, Comparative Politics, History of Contemporary Iran). She received her PhD from Leiden University with a dissertation on the role of workers in Iran between the 1979 revolution and the 2009 Green Movement. Her articles have been published in the International Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, the Middle East Institute, Iranian Studies, IRAN- the British Journal for Persian Studies among others.
