Stephanie Mathieson

Research Fellow, University of Sydney

Stephanie is a Research Fellow at Musculoskeletal Health Sydney, Sydney School of Public Health, The University of Sydney. She completed her PhD in 2016 at The George Institute for Global Health, which investigated various contemporary issues in the management of spinal pain. She was part of an interdisciplinary team that investigated the efficacy and safety of pregabalin versus placebo in reducing leg pain intensity in patients with sciatica, which was published in NEJM earlier this year. She continues to research medicine use in low back pain, now within Wiser Healthcare, a research collaboration that aims to reduce the overdiagnosis and overtreatment in healthcare.
