Dr Wright is an aviation lecturer at the University of Leeds, specialising in aircraft systems, structures and performance, human performance and crew resource management, threat and error management, safety management systems and accident investigation.

He is a member of the School of Chemical and Process Engineering and the Energy Research Institute at Leeds.

He has been involved in numerous media releases and tv/ radio/ print interviews as an Aviation Expert, including for Channel 4 documentary How to survive a plane crash.
