My background is as a Physiotherapist. After a short time treating patients in private practice I moved into research. My PhD research included studies on whiplash and outcome measurement. Following my PhD I spent 3 years as a postdoc at the EMGO+ Institute in Amsterdam and I am now Senior Research Fellow at the George Institute, University of Sydney. My current work includes investigation into the effects of patient expectations on outcome, musculoskeletal spinal pain in adolescents and adults, outcome measurement and study methodology.
