Professor of International Law, Western Sydney University

Steven Freeland is Professor of International Law at Western Sydney University.

He is also Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, Permanent Visiting Professor of the iCourts Centre of Excellence for International Courts, Denmark, a member of Faculty of the London Institute of Space Policy and Law, a Director of the International Institute of Space Law, and a member of the Space Law Committee of the International Law Association.

He is also a member of the Editorial Board / International Advisory Board of many international journals and book series, and Co-Editor of the world's leading annotated book series on the jurisprudence of all of the international criminal courts / tribunals.

He has been appointed by the Australian Department of Industry, Innovation and Science to conduct a 12 month review into Australia's space laws and regulations, and by the New Zealand Ministry, Innovation and Employment with regard to various space-related matters.

He has previously been a Visiting Professional at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and an advisor to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in matters relating to the ICC.
