Stevienna de Saille

Lecturer, Department of Sociological Studies, University of Sheffield

Stevie's research interests lie in the nexus of science and technology studies, social movement theory and heterodox economics, all through an intersectional lens. She began her postdoctoral career investigating 'Publics and the Making of Responsible Innovation' as part of the Leverhulme Trust Research Programme 'Making Science Public'. She is currently leading the 'Human Futures' theme in the Institute for the Study of the Human (iHuman) at Sheffield, where she is developing a programme of research on Robots in a Human Future.

Stevie is a founder member of the Fourth Quadrant Research Network (4QRN), which considers responsible innovation through the lens of steady state economics, and is one of the authors of 'Responsibility Beyond Growth: A Case for Responsible Stagnation' (Bristol University Press, 2020), which won the 2022 Chris Freeman Award for significant collective contribution to STS from the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST). She is also a certified facilitator in LEGO® Serious Play®, which she uses for consultancy, teaching and research.
