PhD Scholar and Lecturer, Queensland University of Technology

Susie is the Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Senior Dietitian- Nutritionist at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital focusing on maternal health. She is currently on study leave until 2013, being awarded a NHMRC scholarship to complete her PhD at Queensland University of Technology. The title of Susie’s thesis is Are we missing opportunities? Understanding health behaviours associated with overweight in pregnancy. Susie has completed undergraduate degrees in nutrition and dietetics, and human movement studies, and a Master of Public Health. While at QUT Susie has been involved in teaching and unit coordination for the undergraduate nutrition and Dietetics program. Susie has worked in the area of maternal health across the continuum of care in both Australia and the UK with a special interest in the area of chronic disease prevention in the perinatal period.
