Sylvia Jaworska

Sylvia's main research interest is in the area of Corpus Linguistics and Discourse Analysis with special reference to English, German and Polish. Her research is interdisciplinary, cross-linguistic and cross-cultural. She combines the corpus and computational tools and methods with discourse-analytical techniques to study language use and linguistic practices in a variety of social and professional contexts including (new) media, education, business and health.

Sylvia is also interested in the application of Corpus Linguistics to research in Second Language Acquisition, Language Pedagogy and Academic Discourse including languages such as English, German and Polish.
