SENIOR RESEARCHER

Tamara Paremoer is a senior researcher at the Centre for Competition, Regulation, and Economic Development at the University of Johannesburg.

Prior to that, she worked as Lead Economist and Inquiry Director of the Competition Commission of South Africa’s first market inquiry, the Market Inquiry into the Private Healthcare Sector. Tamara also worked as a Principal Policy Analyst at the Competition Commission responsible for developing and advocating for pro-competitive regulation in media, banking, healthcare, and regulated sectors and as an investigator in various food sector and agro-processing cases.
Tamara holds a MCom (Economics) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
