Dr Tarela Ike is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Policing at Teesside University, UK. She holds an LLB Hons in Law and an LLM in International Law and Criminal Justice. Tarela also obtained her PhD at the University of East London (UEL), UK. Prior to joining Teesside, Tarela worked as a lecturer at University of East London. She is actively involved in teaching and research that informs policy.

Learning and Teaching Interest and Activities
Tarela has extensive teaching experience in Higher Education and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has experience in teaching Research Methods, Police and Policing, Criminology and Terrorism at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her work have also received numerous funding from organisations such as the British International Studies Association.
