Teresa A. Sullivan is a demographer and a sociologist, and she has served as an administrator at the University if Texas at Austin, the University of Texas System, the University of Michigan, and the University of Virginia. She is currently the Interim Provost at Michigan State University. Her recently published book, Census 2000: Understanding the Issues (Springer, 2020), identifies the challenges the U.S. census faces in 2020 and the compelling reasons that an accurate census helps to underpin America’s democracy. She earned her PhD from the University of Chicago and her bachelor’s degree from James Madison College and the Honors College of Michigan State University.
