Dr Carvalho is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Molecular Parasitology Laboratory at La Trobe University. She is an expert in the biology of malaria parasites and has a keen interest in pathogens of wild life. Her research group focus on the biology of pathogens that are relevant to veterinary and human health with the ultimate goal of uncovering novel anti-parasitic treatments.
