Ph.D. Candidate in Neuroscience, Medical College of Wisconsin

I was born and raised in Curitiba, Brazil, but I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in neuroscience at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Before that, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in French, at the University of South Florida. My doctoral research focuses on human stem cells derived neuronal models, such as brain organoids. With those models, we study the first stages of how the brain develops, and we use those to understand how different substances can affect that development. Moreover, I recently started working on science communication, by writing for different venues such as the eNeuro blog and MassiveScience Consortium.
