Thomas Scott Smith

Professor - Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation Program, Brigham Young University

I have been working as a bear biologist since 1992 (National Park Service, then USGS). My focus is on human-bear conflict. I am a member of the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group and the Conflict Working Group (a subgroup). I publish on many aspects of polar, black, brown and sloth bears with a primary emphasis on human conflict but have also published on topics of general ecology (denning, habitat use, etc).
