Postdoctoral Research Associate, Electoral Integrity Project, University of Sydney

Dr Thomas Wynter joined the Electoral Integrity Project in August 2017. He completed his BA, Masters and PhD in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. His doctoral thesis, completed in 2016, investigated public perceptions of terrorism, how and why they differ from expert understandings, and the consequences for political elites and policymakers.

His research is primarily concerned with political psychology and public opinion, employing survey-experiments to test priming, framing, and counter-framing effects on public perceptions, emotions, and policy preferences.

He previously worked in the Strategic Analysis Unit of the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation, NSW Department of Education, and as a commercial, research, and political consultant.
