Tom Mockaitis

My research and writing focus on violent extremism (terrorism, insurgency, etc.), international security, and military history. I have published 12 books and numerous articles. While some of these publications address academics, others aim at a more general audience. Bridging the gap between the academic world and the educated, non-academic reader has been a major focus of my career. I am a contributor to The Hill, have blogged for the Huffington Post, and have had editorials published by the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times. I provide frequent media commentary for local, national, and international television and radio.
