As Executive Director of the $120M Future Research Vessel Project, Toni is responsible for management oversight of the design, build and commissioning of the research vessel, co-ordination of the prioritisation and acquisition of scientific equipment, contract and financial management, and maintaining high level relationships with the Federal Government, CSIRO Board and CSIRO Chief Executive, Marine National Facility Steering Committee, and the Australian marine community. Toni was responsible for managing the disposal and decommissioning of Southern Surveyor in late 2013.
As the Director, Strategy and Development within National Facilities and Collections, Toni is responsible for ensuring CSIRO’s national facilities and collections are effectively positioned, managed and utilised for long term financial sustainability and support science delivery in the national interest.
Prior to Toni’s role as Director, Strategy and Development, she was Deputy Chief, Science Operations for CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research. In this role, Toni had responsibility for the Marine National Facility (MNF), Information & Data Centre, Scientific Equipment & Technology, Science Facilities, and Capability Support.
Toni has extensive experience in strategic, financial, project and stakeholder management and has worked for CSIRO for over 20 years.
