PhD Candidate in Geography and Demography, Penn State

Currently, I am a PhD Candidate in the Departments of Geography and Demography at Penn State University where I focus on the connections between housing policy and hazard risk. Before returning to school, I spent five years as a disaster recovery and community development planner in the greater Houston (TX, USA) region – working on fair and affordable housing projects and regional economic development plans. I have a Master of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University with a focus in disaster and land use planning. I am currently a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, and have been involved with various NSF, HUD, and EDA research grants.
