Vassily A. Klimentov

Vassily A. Klimentov is an SNSF Postdoctoral Researcher and Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence. He has received his PhD in International History and International Relations/ Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Vassily's research deals with the Soviet-Afghan War, and ideology and political mobilisation in the North Caucasus. Before his PhD, he has worked for six years as a humanitarian and conflict analyst in international NGOs in Switzerland, the Middle-East, and Kyrgyzstan.
