Virgile Chassagnon is a full professor of Economics (with French University Agrégation and French national award of scientific excellence) and the director of the Doctoral School of Economics at Univ. Grenoble Alpes (UGA). He is a research fellow at CREG Research Centre and the head of the Research Master « Sustainable Governance of Firms » at the department of Economics. He is also a member of the Academic Council of the Grenoble Alpes University.

He is the director of IREPE, the Research Institute for the Political Economy of the Firm.

He is nominated for the « Prix 2020 du Meilleur Jeune Economiste » (the French John Bates Clark Medal)
