I am broadly interested in marine biogeochemistry, especially the connection between the nitrogen and carbon cycles. I study the supply, transformation and loss of nitrogen in the ocean and their impact on marine photosynthesis, the oceanic uptake of carbon dioxide and the Earth's climate.
