Zali is an Associate Professor in Health and Physical Education in the Institute of Health and sport at Victoria University. Her research expertise is in the development and evaluation of interventions to promote positive body image among men, women, and children. This has included work to evaluate programs designed to improve body image for adolescent boys, and programs to prepare teachers to be able to incorporate these resources into their class and school. Zali also leads the Body Confident Mums Project that aims to empower mothers to role model positive body image attitudes and behaviours to their children. Zali has been awarded a Creswick fellowship to travel to Harvard and Northeastern universities to further develop Body Confident Mums resources in 2019.
