I am a Medical Scientist at the HIV Virology section. Our research focuses on the virology and immunology of HIV. My specific interests include isolation and characterisation of antibodies capable of killing diverse HIV strains around the world. I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Witwatersrand and my Doctoral degree from the University of Cape Town. My PhD project focused on two DNA polymerases which have been implicated in the emergence of multi-drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis (TB).
