President and Professor of American Jewish History, Gratz College

Rabbi Zev Eleff is President of Gratz College and Professor of American Jewish History. He earned a doctorate in American Jewish history at Brandeis University, a Master of Arts in history and education from Teachers College at Columbia University and was ordained at Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. He has authored six books and more than 40 scholarly articles—published in both English and Hebrew—and received the 2015 Salo Wittmayer Baron Dissertation Award at the Association of Jewish Studies (AJS) annual conference in Boston, the principal academic conference for the entire field of Jewish studies. He holds a number of regional and national leadership positions in the American Jewish community, and is a scholar with considerable research interests in the area of American Jewish history, Orthodox Judaism and contemporary American religion
