Li Zhengshuan, PhD of Peking University, born in 1963, is Professor of English literature, Chair of Academic Committee at the School of Foreign Languages, a member of the University Degree-Appraisal Committee, one of the Academic Leading Scholars at Hebei Normal University, Backbone Young Teacher of Hebei Province, a member of the “50 Middle-aged and Young Experts Project” of Hebei Province, a young expert with outstanding contribution in Hebei Province, a member of appointed by China’s Ministry of Education, Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of Hebei Province, Chair of Hebei Shakespeare Society, Chair of Hebei Foreign Language Teaching Research Association for Universities and Colleges, Vice-chair of Hebei Translators’ Association, expert member of China Translation Association. His major academic interests are in English and American poetry, poetry translating and translation review. He once studied at San Diego State University.

He has published five monographs on John Donne, Renaissance poetry and American poetry, five textbooks of English and American literature. He has also published many articles on John Donne, other renaissance poets and translation studies. In recent years, he has published several books of translation, mainly Chinese classics and Tibetan Gnomic verses into English. He got provincial awards in social-science research 7 times and provincial awards for excellent teaching 5 times. He was appraised as a celebrated teacher of Hebei Province.
