Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Monash University

Professor Zlatko Skrbiš is Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and a Professor of Sociology in the School of Sciences at Monash University. He is responsible for Monash’s course and curriculum content, education policy, learning and teaching quality and student academic experience. He also oversees the University’s digital strategy, the Professions of the Future framework, graduate research policy and administration, supervisor training, and the Monash Doctoral Program.

His research interests include cosmopolitanism, migration, ethnicity, nationalism, globalisation and culture, and life pathways. Since 2006, Professor Skrbiš has been the principal chief investigator on the multi-wave ARC Discovery Project titled ‘Social Futures and Life Pathways of Young People in Queensland’ study – also known as ‘Our Lives’. This is an infinite-life, multi-wave, multi-method, cohort study of young Queenslanders, which has thus far been granted ARC-Discovery Project funding for seven waves of research.
