Adjunct Research Fellow, Sociology, Swinburne University of Technology

I’m an applied sociologist who began my career as a lecturer, tutor and researcher at Swinburne University from 2001-2005, where I have remained an Adjunct Research Fellow since 2006.

I also worked as a lecturer and tutor at Monash University in 2005, before working as an applied sociologist within federal and state government and later as a researcher and consultant in the not-for-profit and business sectors.

I currently work as the Program Manager for Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE), a national program that works to improve gender equity and diversity in higher education and research institutes, focusing on improving the education and career outcomes of all women and underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.

I write about sociology, social justice and social inclusion on my blog OtherSociologist.com. I also volunteer with various social science, equity and diversity, and science education groups, including SociologyAtWork.org and STEMWomen.net.
