A clue to reversing ageing

A gene, which allows yeast cell to reset their age and double their lifespan, has been found by biologists at MIT.

Human reproductive cells have the same ability, dividing beyond the typical lifespan of a cell, but how it’s done is unknown. This yeast gene, called NDT80, may provide some clues.

If human cells are controlled by a similar gene, this discovery could offer a new approach to rejuvenating human cells.
