A strawberry a day keeps the doctor away

Fisetin, a naturally-occurring flavonoid found mostly in strawberries, lessens complications associated with diabetes, according to research from the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

Fisetin has also been shown to promote the survival of neurons grown in culture and enhance memory in healthy mice.

Given fisetin ability to target multiple organs, it could, in the future, aid in the creation of a single drug for numerous medical complications.
