Advertising junk food to children works

Children who watch TV adverts for sugary drinks are 9% more likely to consume them, according to a study by Yale University in the United States. They were also 1% more likely to eat junk food after watching an advert for it. But they were not wedded to the brand of food they had been exposed to. The children consumed more high-calorie and nutrient-poor foods overall, regardless of the specific product and brand being marketed,
