Aerial assault: controlling drones for cyber security

Research into cyber-security has identified a weakness in aerial drones which could allow law enforcement agencies to take control of drones in mid-air.

This vulnerability, identified by Edith Cowan University’s Security Research Institute, allows interference through remote access to the drone’s Wi-Fi.

The research is part of investigations into ways to prevent criminal and terrorist activities taking advantage of freely available aerial drones.
