Ancient and modern cities have developed the same way

Equations that help describe development patterns in urban areas today also help to describe ancient cities settled a long time ago, according to a recent study.

Data collected in the 1960s, spanning 1500 settlements in central Mexico from 1150 B.C. through to the Aztec period, was used to test the equations.

The findings would help archaeologists and people interested in studying modern urban areas.
