Anti-microbial catheter developed

A new anti-microbial catheter could remain infection free for up to twelve weeks.

Scientists developed a catheter designed to kill most urinary bacteria within a six to twelve week period. This includes the most common cause of infections from most strains of the Proteus bacteria.

Current anti-bacterial commercial catheters are not designed for long-term use. This new development will assist long-term catheter users, and decrease the rate of infection.
