Clot-busting drug for stroke patients

New research has found better rates of recovery for patients who are administered a clot-busting drug within six hours of having a stroke, compared with those who are not.

Following treatment of the drug rt-PA, patients are able to take better care of themselves. The drug is likely to reduce the risk of permanent disability and improve long-term recovery.
