CO2 in atmosphere enough to warm earth for centuries

Even if emissions were brought to a halt, the carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere is enough to continue warming the earth for centuries.

A study led by Princeton University suggests that it may take a lot less carbon than previously thought to reach a global temperature scientists deem unsafe.

The study contradicts a view that the global temperature would remain constant or decline if emissions were suddenly cut completely.
