Concussed children sent back on-field

Children who present signs of concussion are continuing to play on-field despite international safety guidelines.

Of the organised sports that participated in the research, 41% did not comply with international recommendations for treating concussion; up to 28% of concussed children returned to the field on the same day as their injury.

The Royal Children’s Hospital In Melbourne recommends children who suffer concussion or related injuries should rest and slowly proceed to their full standard of play over a minimum of a week.
