University of Wollongong researchers have designed a next-generation condom with tough hydrogel materials to more closely replicate human skin.
The redefined condom, replacing latex with new skin-like substitutes, will preserve and enhance sexual pleasure in order to improve uptake and regular use.
This research will be of value to those in countries where significant social, economic and environmental problems stem from lack of birth control and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
