Earth’s core has own rotation

The earth’s core spins at a different speed to the outer layer, new research from the Australian National University has found.

Researchers used data from earthquakes to measure the rotations of the earth’s core and found that not only was it out of sync with the earth’s mantle, it slowed down and sped up at different times.
