Facebook - the ultimate HR tool?

A new study by Northern Illinois University has found that Facebook is more accurate in predicting future job performance than traditional personality tests.

The research, headed by professor of management Don Kluemper, could have a significant impact on the measures taken by companies when assessing the suitability of new employees. As it is the first study of its kind, further research is required in order to see if the results can be duplicated.

There’s also the issue of the legality of using Facebook in lieu of personality questionnaires. Not everyone will favour giving potential employers access to their personal Facebook page. But that’s another day’s work…
