Healthy weight gain during pregnancy

A healthy diet and not eating for two during pregnancy is vital to limit excess weight gain in both women and their babies, according to new research.

The study found 74% of women pregnant for the first time gained an excessive amount of weight throughout their pregnancies.

Significant weight gain in pregnancy lead to infants being large at birth and increased the number of caesarean deliveries in labour.
