Ordu University

Ordu University was established in March, 2006. Although the university is young, it has a wealth of experience due to the fact that it was created by the combination of different successful and respected academic units of two large universities with deep-rooted academic backgrounds.

Ordu University was established by bringing together the Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Fatsa Faculty of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Science and Letters, School of Health and Mesudiye Vocational School and Karadeniz Technical University’s Faculty of Agriculture and Vocational School. This knowledge was then transferred to the Faculties of Medicine, Fine Arts, Dentistry and Education; Institutes of Science, Social and Health Sciences; State Conservatory, Schools of Physical Education and Sports, Tourism and Hotel Management, and Fatsa, Ulubey, Akkuş, Aybastı and İkizce Vocational Schools were added.

The mission of Ordu University is to raise competent individuals who research and question with a participatory and people-oriented approach and who have adopted universal ethical values. It is hoped that the university will contribute to the economic, cultural and social development of the region with its scientific research at national and international levels.
