Largest find of dinosaur footprints in Victoria

Palaeontologists have discovered dinosaur footprints in Victoria. The discovery, now the largest of its kind in Victoria, will provide new insight into dinosaur presence on the Victorian coastline.

“This is the most significant dinosaur track discovery in Victoria,” said Dr Thomas Rich, Senior Curator, Vertebrate Paleontology Museum Victoria.

The find was made on two sandstone blocks at Melanesia Beach, Near Cape Otway.

At least 24 dinosaur tracks were uncovered with three distinctively sized theropod dinosaurs identified.
