New laser lights the way in atomic-scale investigations

French researchers have obtained groundbreaking information about the electronic structure of atoms and molecules using new laser technology called the Advanced Laser Light Source (ALLS). The collaborative research uses a method known as “high harmonic generation” and paves the way for further research into ultra-short-timescale electron dynamics.
